“While the state would ensure James’ rights as enshrined in the constitution are upheld, the Ministry of Justice would not relent in its efforts at ensuring that whoever sexually abuses any resident of Lagos is speedily brought to book.”

Baba Ijesha was charged for alleged sexual molestation of a minor.

His case was transferred to the DPP on April 30.

Ayinde Ogun at 64: A Class Act and National Treasure - By Biodun Kupoluyi

Mayegun Ayinde Wasiu Omogbolahan Marshall's life won't stop to intrigue me, especially his penchant to churn out music that captures moods and draws to the dance floor. His latest experiment, Fuji The Sound (2020) is a rave, fusing Fuji and pop music has been hugely successful as the bug eats everyone. With the short but phenomenal, Ade Ori Okin' he has shown that he is the eponym of Fuji. For that singular track, even the harshest of his critics sway to the prayer, laden and poignant lyrics with beats that reflect the rhythm of the hearts. Fact is: You can't hate Wasiu and hate Ade Ori Okin' or his Fuji music. It truly affirms music is life and our hearts as humans have beats. His style has become a template and like what the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kui did to Afrobeat on the world stage, K1 De Ultimate's Fuji is another great export waiting to penetrate the global stage like it did at international music festivals such as WOMAD JazzVille Concerts and several others in Europe and America. His ability to recognize and work with Grammy-certified songwriter and producer, Abisagboola Bankuli Oluseun on the album, Fuji The Sound, is commendable. Bankuli, who had worked with Beyonce on the album, The Lion King: The Gift, brought fresh skills and innovation to the new effort. Over the span of roughly two decades, K1 De Ultimate has stayed relevant, consistent on the radar, famous, rich and influential. You know what I mean - music and politics. He has taught us how to fight battles, not necessarily winning, but learning and smiling through the experiences. He has wooed and wowed many with his maturity on the vexatious issue of Fuji creation and his ability to worm his way back to his 'first family,' fans and children of his late mentor, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, the creator of Fuji music. He aptly affirmed that Ayinde Barrister created Fuji music and he has been a direct beneficiary. "I affirm that the late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister is the founder of Fuji music. I am a direct beneficiary of Barrister because I started out under his tutelage. I see it as God sent me somewhere to be prepared for the future. He graciously accepted me and he gave me the tutelage and all the training that I needed for the future and today, the rest is history. I served him very well and learned the rudiments of the genre of music from him. To most of us that are still alive, I am speaking on behalf of you all, the forefathers that have done graciously well to the formation of “Ajiwere,“Ajisaari” before late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister now turned the whole thing into a mega success that we are seeing today. He lifted “Ajiwere”, “Ajisaari” up, God used Sikiru Ayinde Barrister to be the turning around by creating Fuji to the standard we are seeing today. We are building the history of Fuji and we continue to build for the coming decades to add many more names." On record, his role at the 10th anniversary of Barrister's passage and the posthumous concert, Fuji Opera, speaks volume. He proved that he is a class act to reunite the family. To me, I strongly believe he achieved that not because he has money or he is successful. It was an action that came from his innermost part, ability to discern the truth and declare it, not based on external influence or persuasion. In the same vein, the responsibility of his traditional title, Mayegun of Yorubaland confers peaceful reconciliation of all matters on his shoulder. I'm confident he would achieve that among warring factions in his Fuji clan soon. Frankly speaking, he has been a great beneficiary of his class act, especially now that the pandemic is ravaging the world and lockdown is shutting businesses down and many musicians' revenues have plummeted. In a twist of fate, K1 De Ultimate's revenue stream is shoring up, climbing the ladder: packing venues to capacity, digital downloads, streaming and live touring, private bookings, smiling to the bank and exploring fresh opportunities in bakery, dredging, real estate investments and more. Happy 64th Birthday, Ayinde Ogun!

Squabble between K1 and MC Murphy finally resolved

Frontline media practitioner and 1998 United Nations Peace Ambassadors for World Peace, Comrade Tunde Oladunjoye, has said that the reported misunderstanding between Mayegun of Yorubaland, King Wasiu Olasunkanmi Marshal popularly known as K1, and popular broadcaster and compere, Wole Shorunke, popularly called MC Murphy, has been resolved .

Oladunjoye, a former Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government and current Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, informed that the matter has been resolved.

“Eminent people have intervened on both sides, so the details is that the matter has been resolved, he added.

On the allegation that the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) was abused by someone close to K1, Oladunjoye said:“that cannot be attached to K1. I have been in touch with K1, MC Murphy, President of FIBAN and the Olu of Itori. It will be very wrong to credit a comment to K1 when the commentator was not speaking for K1, even the medium that interviewed the commentator neitherreferred to him, nor introduced him as a representative of K1.”

“It is normal that when disagreement like this occurs, some people will want it resolved quickly, some will want to escalate it for ulterior motives, but the most important thing is that in this particular incident, it has been resolved. K1 and Mc Murphy have come from a long way, not even the latest incident, or so-calledsympathisersor supporters on either side could put them apart,” Oladunnoye explained.

“The matter has been resolved, and it stands resolved.”, Oladunjoye concluded.

Jagajaga Reloaded! Festus Keyamo replies Eedris Abdulkareem

Eedris Abdulkareem just released a song, ‘jagajaga reloaded’, where he waxed the following lyrics, “where Festus Keyamo sef? He don dey chop with cabal o”. I laughed out so loud and even danced to the rhythm too. But there’s a small story behind this poor attempt at blackmail.
In 2018, when I was named the Director of Strategic Communications for Buhari Campaign Organisation Eedris waxed a song in support of Buhari & wanted to join us, albeit for a fee. He then made desperate efforts to see me through text messages from his phone no. 07019691772.
When I finally met with him, I listened to the songs, but told him I had no budget for such or any for that matter. I explained that my job was voluntary. It was the same thing I told so many other so-called activists-by-day-and-hustlers-at-night who secretly approached me.
He then switched to the fact that he wanted a loan to pay for his hotel bills to the tune of N1.3 m & to cater for his ‘sick mum’. That was already running into more than N3m. However, one govt functionary called me to say he told him another story that his child was sick.
He begged me to introduce him to Malami (AGF), Amaechi & the SGF and to paint a good ‘PR’ for him. He pledged that he was with us in the campaign with his whole ‘body and soul’. But at this point, I knew he was a desperate hustler who could embarrass me, so I ghosted him.
Shortly after this episode when he could not penetrate the system to get the money he so desperately wanted, he then endorsed Atiku and called Buhari a ‘fraudster’. See one of the links here... m.guardian.ng/life/eedris-ab…. But we decided to ignore his weak voice of opposition.
After our victory, he went berserk and joined every protests against the same Buhari whom he wanted to serve with his whole ‘body and soul’, but needed money to do so. He has been mentioning my name specifically at occasions as if I am the cause of all his troubles in life.
Now, the latest is the ‘jagajaga reloaded’ that he has waxed to vent his frustrations at not getting into the system. His reference to me as ‘chopping’ reminds me of the gaffe of then Minister Sunday Afolabi who infamously said Bola Ige was invited to Govt to ‘come and chop’.
I wish to assure Eedris and any who think being in Govt is tantamount to ‘chopping’, that for some of us (I can’t speak for others) it is just an honour to serve our country and an attempt to move from armchair criticism to a real participant in order to make a difference.
Finally, we can all sit back and enjoy the ‘jagajaga reloaded’. One of the objectives of the song is to call me out since I ghosted him for attempted extortion - he has now succeeded. Another objective is to help promote the song by my reaction - that he has also achieved!

She soon began her career appearing in movies produced by Aworo.

Her appearance in other movies like “Agbaarin” and soap opera, “Yanponyanrin” cemented her place in the movie industry.
She was trained by Chief Jimoh Aliu but her special ability to speak incantations comes from her upbringing.

”It is so sad we lost a priceless jewel, a very rare gem in the Nigerian film industry, Chief Mrs Folakemi Aremu aka Orisabunm to the cold hands of death last night.

”Though good people die every day yet not all of them affirm for us the goodness in humanity the way Orisabunmi did.

“She passed away leaving a legacy of positive experiences for anyone who took the time to know her.

”If Oratory is the masterful art, the world will surely miss Orisabunmi for her talent,” he said.

Amusan said that Orisabunmi was an orator who would perfectly chant eloquently with her resounding sonorous voice, adding that the industry would surely miss her.

He said that the burial arrangement would be communicated soon.

‘I never laid hands on MC Murphy’…K1 denies brutalising Broadcaster at party

Fuji Lord, Wasiu Olasunkanmi Marshal, popularly known as K1 de Ultimate,  has denied reports making the rounds that he  beats up broadcaster, Wole Sorunke, who is more known on Radio as MC Murphy at the 60th birthday party of Oba Abdulfatai Akamo,  the Olu of Itori in  Ewekoro,  Ogun State, last Thursday evening. Surprisingly, broadcasters under the aegis of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria,(FIBAN), had  a press conference, on Friday, alleging  that the Fuji super star  beat up the broadcaster at the party. The FIBAN had also called on the Alaafin of Oyo,  to strip the musician off his 'Mayegun of Yorubaland' title,  for the alleged offence.

The FIBAN had claimed that K1 allegedly disrupted the party, which had some prominent persons in attendance, when "he and his boys brutalised, harassed and humiliated the FIBAN member over what they called a minor issue."

In a statement on Saturday, the spokesperson of the K1 organisation,  Kunle Rasheed said the event painted by Sorunke and FIBAN is far from the truth.  Mr. Rasheed said,  "it is unfortunate that Mr.  Sorunke and FIBAN are seriously looking for ways to malign King Wasiu Olasunkanmi Marshal who did not in anyway deserve that from them." "K1 was never involved in any violence at that party.  Indeed,  many followed K1's performance live through the social media that day and so it became a  great  wonder the  point this monumental violence took place that the live cameras did not capture it". If indeed there was a fracas we are maintaining that it has nothing to do with K1 and his stage where he performed . It was believed that the radio presenter had  issues with people at the party and because he is known to K1, he  rescued him and took him to his stage away from the scene of the incident. How then can this amount to beating up the broadcaster, when indeed he saved him that fateful evening. This can be coroborrated by people present at the occasion. "For the avoidance of doubt, K1’s title,  'Mayegun of Yorubaland", is a solid statement that the man stands for peace. Anything that happened to him (Sorunke) has nothing to do with Alhaji (K1)", he concluded.
