The former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, has emerged as the Senate President of the 10th Assembly.
Akpabio, who is the preferred candidate of the All Progressives Congress,and senator senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West,scored 63 votes beating Abdulaziz Yari, senator representing Zamfara Central, who scored 46 votes.
Akpabio,was subsequently sworn-in after taking the oath of office,before the commnencement of the election of other principal officers of the 10th senate.
