Few hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo declared his interest in the 2023 presidential election, his erstwhile political godfather, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,held a meeting with governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
The meeting whose agenda,is related to Tinubu’s presidential ambition is held behind closed doors at the Kebbi state Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
The meeting is coming less than 24 hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo hosted the governors at his Aguda House residence on Sunday evening; where he disclosed his intention to run for the APC presidential ticket.
Although Tinubu is yet to officially declare for office, he had in January informed the President Muhammadu Buhari, of his intention to succeed him.
14 governors attended the meeting,with the presidential hopeful.The governors in attendance include Governors Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Bababjide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, Mai Mala Binu of Yobe, Simon Lalong of Plateau, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, amongst others.
After the meeting he told journalist that he met them,to seek collaboration and encouragement for his presidential ambition.When asked about the declaration of the Vice President,whom they reffered to as his son,he said,'i have no son grown enough to declare'.
