Britain’s richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe has indicated that he would be interested in buying Manchester United should the Glazer family be prepared to sell their entire controlling stake in the club – with suggestions that a sale of another part of their holding could be imminent.A spokesman for Ratcliffe told Telegraph Sport: “We are definitely interested buyers but can only buy something that’s for sale”."If something like this was possible, we would be interested in talking with a view to long-term ownership.
"This is not about the money that has been spent or not spent. Jim is looking at what can be done now and, knowing how important the club is to the city, it feels like the time is right for a reset."
