The coast is now clear for the enthronement of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland as Otun Olubadan High Chief Rasidi Ladoja has finally withdrawn the suit filed against members of Olubadan in Council.
One of his aides, Adeola Oloko disclosed this in an exclusive chat with the Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday
"High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja has directed his counsel to withdraw a suit filed against other members of the Olubadan-in-Council on a threat to his kingship ambition to facilitate the enthronement of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan"
He said that High Chief Ladoja is committed to the peace of Ibadanland, and therebyhe is ready to do anything to ensure that peace reigns in the land.
According to him, ‘Oga has said that he will withdraw the case. He will do so. If he does not withdraw the case in the Court, Olakulehin will not be installed as the next Olubadan.
“The withdrawal of the case is very key to the installation of Olubadan.
“He has directed his lawyers to file withdrawal suit and I am sure between now and Mondaythe case will be withdrawn.
“Like I said, we can neither be provoked nor intimidated.
“The ball is now in the court of Governor Seyi Makinde to approve Olakulehin as the next Olubadan as nominated by the members of Olubadan in Council.
If you recall,it was resolved at the Olubadan in Council meeting that there was no need to sign any paper since they have resolved to comply with the 1957 Chieftancy Declaration of Oyo state.
“We have gone through it and discovered that the terms of reference have been met with our strict compliance with the 1957 Chieftaincy Declaration.
“We have realised that our actions and deeds must be in strict compliance with the 1957 Chieftaincy Declaration that is why we honoured his invitation for a meeting for the nomination of Oba Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.“
